- The saying 'Think ouside the box' is something we do best, although on this project we decided to use the box.
It is amazing just how unique our designs can be. For this home owner, the vision was to have a TV in their living area, but they didn’t want a TV taking up their view of the outside world. We can’t blame them; given the beauty they’re surrounded by. So, to achieve this, the idea was hatched that we create a TV to recesses into a ceiling box which drops down with one simple click of a button.
To achieve this vision, a custom made TV enclosure needed to be created and installed into the roof. The cabinetry required needed to fit a 55-inch TV. Once the custom cabinetry was mounted; a mechanism was installed allowing for free flowing up and down movement of the TV.
This TV also required audio from loud speakers. How to achieve quality sound while concealing all wiring and amplifiers? The answer was to install loud speakers on either side of the TV, sitting flush inside the cabinet. This allows for great quality sound while still making for a pleasing aesthetic with no messy cables.
It’s one thing to enjoy viewing the TV and all the magic that comes with it, but what can not go understated is the need for quality seating. This room is perfectly tied together with Manhattan recliners. These custom made to order recliners don’t just look the part, they feel the part too. The headrests and leg rests are individually motorised allowing for smooth movement and the perfect sitting positions. Allowing for a variety of colour options in the seating range means there are many colour choices available to compliment any room. As you can see here, the home owner opted for a colour that is subtle yet still allows for the recliners to be a feature piece of the room.
A solution like this one is ideal for anyone wishing to have a TV with minimal impact of views to the outside world. It is also clean allowing for less interference when the TV is not is use. It is a great solution if you require a TV in a room that may also be needed for entertaining guests or simply for an area of the house that requires room to move without a large TV impacting the area.
